Hello! My name is Kim Steele. When I became a mother for the first time in 2014, I had no idea what was in store when it came to breastfeeding. I went through pain and discomfort not only from a shallow latch, but also from trying to position myself after an unplanned c-section. Those first two weeks were tough, but with support from peers and IBCLC's, my son and I established a good breastfeeding relationship.

In 2018, my husband and I suffered the stillbirth of our daughter, and I did not receive the lactation support I needed from the hospital. This experience led me to become a birth and bereavement doula, as well as pursue lactation training to become an IBCLC. I completed my internship at a busy private practice in Houston and became an IBCLC in 2022. I have been a Speech-Language Pathologist since 2008. I also have two rainbow babies born in 2020 and 2022.

Apart from my professional achievements, I have personal experience breastfeeding babies with tongue and lip ties, balancing pumping while working, and breastfeeding while pregnant. In my free time, I enjoy reading, gardening, listening to audiobooks and podcasts, and baking. Additionally, I homeschool my children.
